Newly elected Primate of the Orthodox
Church in America, Archbishop Herman visiting the Eastern
Orthodox Committee on Scoutings display booth at St.
Vladimirs Alumni Day in Crestwood, New York. His Eminence
discussed with National Chairman of the EOCS, George N.
Boulukos, the importance and benefits that Scouting offers
our Orthodox Christian Youth.
During the visit,
Archbishop Herman reminisced about the EOCS Retreat several years ago,
where 306 Scouts from throughout the Northeast camped in his back yard
at Saint Tikhons Seminary. Since he will divide his time between the
OCA Headquarters in Syosset, New York and Saint Tikhons in South
Canaan, Pennsylvania he offered to host another Scout Retreat at Saint
Tikhons Seminary in the near future.
